Before & After Transformation: My 60 Pound Weight Loss Journey So Far

FINALLY got my computer fixed...actually I got a new one! I'm a little rusty on the iMovie so I wanted to test out my skills. I made this video to commemorate/update those interested in my weight loss journey thus far. It's been a remarkable journey! I'm not done, but I'm more than happy to say I'm more than half-way done. My final video will be posed soon enough, but I hope this one encourages someone!

Alsoooooo, I've been researching and meeting with cool folks about taking my blog to a new level. I hope I'm not speaking too soon, but I am beyond excited about getting back to my niche (explanations/excuses will also be provided).

Blog + Vlog coming soon.... ;)

Nothing Surprises Me Anymore....
...and I mean nothing. People's selfishness, phoniness, gossip, cheating, lying, backstabbing....NOTHING. People can just be so self-centered and it gets under my skin so deeply.  While I'm not writing with any one particular person in mind, but it seems like everyone has been infected with 'humanitis'. Many research shows that it is human nature to do the "wrong thing," that is to be bad. So is it that people are conditioned by society to be humane, and nice, etc? I do believe that there are some genuinely nice people in the world, but in general people are so horrible, mean, awful.
I am a nice person, but I feel like when I am nice to people they just try to take advantage and run over me. I refuse to be taken for granted, but I also refuse to live a life of cynicism. It's a constant internal conflict of mine. It's why I prefer to stay by myself or CERTAIN people whom I don't mind being around 24/7. It just seriously gets under my skin how people act. THE WORLD CANNOT REVOLVE AROUND EVERYBODY !!!!!!!!!!!!...it just cannot.

...but not to be self-righteous, I may have a slight case of 'humanitis' myself =/

Twitter Celebrities:
I know it just seems like I'm lashing out on humanity today, but I love people. It erks my nerves when "regular" people you know and have conversations with refuse to follow me back on twitter. It's like are you trying to make yourself seem like some type of celebrity or something??? Especially because your replying to everything I say to you, but do not want me to follow you back ?!?!?! C'mon son... #realitycheck in 5......4....3........2.....
Diet update:
Everything's still good...although I feel like I've prob gained like 5 pounds because I've been stressed lately, female probs, and have been eating badly. And to top it off I haven't been in the gym in like four/five days. Man, I solemnly swear to partake in two hour work-outs for the rest of the week.

It seems like only the rich and famous are able to reach society's idealistic view of the beauty. Certainly, as a woman I have found myself burdened with trying to be like Beyonce, Kim Kardashian, and them....but no matter how hard I try results do not come fast enough and I give up. Being in Liberia definitely opened my eyes to  A LOT of things. Also, reflecting off recent success of some of my peers I realized that this journey is more so a long term one-if I want it to be lasting that is. Looking at myself I realized that maybe now is the time. I knew I could do it. Senior year of high school I lost 20 pounds over the course of four months. After, the freshman +15, drinking, and not-so routine way of living in college, I have gained my share of "college wight". Transitioning into the real world-and dreams of walking along an exotic beach shamelessly with my man and his chiseled abs and speedo-I know I gotta do this! I realized I'm getting older and the healthy habits have to start like NOW...

Let's lQQk at my progression....(notice my face and forearms...)

>>>Although my immediate goal is weight loss, I also am working towards improving my quality of life. The journey does not and will not end once I reach my ideal size. Your prayers and words of encouragement are always welcomed and appreciated.  Philippinians 4:18 says I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me. No goal is unrealistic and unreachable. Keep in mind I'm doing this the old-fashion way, just diet & exercise (mainly because I cannot afford surgeries and fad diets lol). By my 23rd birthday I, granted I keep working as hard as I am now, I should be where I wanna be !!!!!

Trying to stay encouraged

Okay so of course as a woman I am inevitably burdened with the picture perfect ideals of woman; you know the ones that say a woman has to be a size 4/6, no stretch marks, always in perfect hair, etc. But size is the one that bothers me most. Complain. Complain. Complain. So I finally decided to do something about it...but three weeks in and I'm getting discouraged. It's like OMG why can't I just be where I want to be already????? Oh and mind you I'm doing this the "old fashion" way. That is, no fad diets no quick stunts...just monitoring what I eat and exercise...dear God do I work-out. I just pray and turn to my friends for motivation for feelings like this. I just give up when I realize I haven't got the result I want. Spending break in Liberia and a recent conversation with a friend really makes me wanna lose. So....I hope and pray I keep this up. Since I'm moving to New York I wanna be a size 10 chic for the big city...I just hope it's ready for me =).
