Fortune Cookie
I know I'm not the only one that noticed how fortune cookies went from telling your future to giving you advice, right? Could the change be socially constructed? Just an interesting observation.... So, I ordered some Chinese today and my fortune cookie read:
"You're not afraid of storms, for you're learning to sail your ship"
Besides the ANNOYING comma splice that's present in the oration, it's a very interesting thought. K'Jon sang about knowing his ship is coming in after waiting on it for so long. "Ship" in both senses meaning all the great, positive blessings God has in store for one. "Storm" meaning hardships, barriers, all the bad things, right? Okay so now that we're all clear on that, if I may, I'd like to say this "fortune" is saying that One is not afraid of the bad things in life, but learning and preparing with/for the forthcoming blessings. Like, I'm not afraid to face the bad things, but I'm waiting on God as He prepares a fence around me. I hope someone shouted just now lol.
This is just my point of view, obviously. Do you agree? Disagree? Comment if you have any different interpretations!
