First NYE ever in NYC! and I'm sure many more to come (maybe).
I will bring the new year in like how I want to spend it. The right way-no doubt-but the Christ way. I'm opting out of counting down to January 1st in a social establishment, but instead in the church. Same way I did 2009 and it happened to be one of the best years of my life....no superstition though. I will partake in the festivities on the night of January 1st, however.
Clearly everyone wants to looks paparazzi ready for the night so I have some outfit ideas (and make-up ones for the ladies).
Gentlemen:
A plain button up with slacks or dark jeans will work. A tie is optional. The shoes are what sets this outfit off. Try a loafer with a daring print or boots with accent pieces. This is your one statement piece.
Ladies:
Metallics are def IT. Instant glam! The best idea is to go with one metallic shade, silver, gold or bronze and stick with it through the rest of your outfit. Depending on how shiny your dress is, ditch the big accessories to avoid doing too much. And go with a simple pair of pumps.
A pin-up is a safe bet (braided or twisted). They are simple yet elegant. Nude make-up is HAUTE. Try nude to natural make-up shades. Here's a tip: try a light red foundation and add a hint of bronzer for shine. Dramatic mascara, but little eyeliner on your upper lids.
Black is always in style. A black minidress or black suit can never not work lol. In fact it's probably what I will do.
